Prepreg (preimpregnated fibers) is a semifinished material comprising endless filaments in a nonhardened resin matrix. The endless filaments can be in the form of a unidirectional layer, textile, or bundled fabric. Prepreg material can be machined or manually worked, and is of uniformly high quality thanks to mechanical preimpregnation. In practice mainly GFRP, CFRP and aramid fibers are used for making Prepreg material.
We cut our prepregs to exact size with a CNC system, then insert them in a mold made of steel, CFRP or aluminum. After insertion in the mold, each prepreg is cured at high temperature in an autoclave or a heated press. Prepregs can be worked by hot press or autoclave technology. Combined application of pressure and vacuum ensures finished components with hardly any entrapped air.
